I think it is good to have this kind of thread every once in a while. Especially when we have so many new people joining all the time.

Well I live in MA, about an hour West of Boston. I am here with my wonderful wife and my 18 month old daughter Rachel. Oh wait, we promised we would start saying a year and a half instead of listing it in months so scratch what I said.

I work for Monster.com and have been there for quite a while. Unfortunately my job has nothing to do with food.

I guess if I had to pick a favorite food, it would be sushi. I have always loved food, but never knew I could be addicted to it until I tried the stuff. More specifically I am talking about nigiri sushi, but any kind will do

Hi Chef June. There are a few threads like this, but we are always getting new member to get to know. I think we all like replying to them anyhow, they're fun. So...here goes.

Location- Bellingham, WA (about as Northwest of the US as you can get. Our house is 15 minutes from the Canadian border) I live here with a great husband, who is a professional firefighter, and our 2 boys (pictured in my avatar, as well as many other places throughout the forum) Aidan just turned 3 and Callum is 7 months.

Career- nurse, psychologist, teacher, chef, baker, janitor, dairy cow, analyst, mediator, entertainer, disciplinarian...aka "punk mom."

Favorite food- chocolate. Anything deep, dark & decadent, with raspberries!

OK, I'm in.

I'm Alix (Duh!). Husband Ken (who skulks here behind the scenes trying to find out what is for dinner), daughters Kate (another skulker) and Madeleine (who is not much into the computer yet). We have a couple of kitties that live with us and one golden retriever.

Occupation: Mental Health Therapist (but not full time thank goodness!)

Location: Edmonton in Gods Country

Favorite food: Hmmm...I'd have an easier time telling you what I DON'T like. That would be pumpkin or most squash and cottage cheese makes me gag too.

I'm Sharon. Right now my husband, Bob, and I are back living on our houseboat, with our 4 Pugs and a cat. I manage a 153+ slip marina in the California Delta. Bob is a computer Tech.

Our major passions in life are food, our Pugs, and our friends. We also love boating, sailing, and fishing. We also enjoy making our own wine, and roasting our own coffee.

Our favorite food??? Got to be Mexican or Italian and for sweets anything deep dark chocolate.

Oh wow Sharon, it sounds like you are living my dream! I have always had a love affair with the water and boats. Living on a houseboat sounds amazing. I would love to hear more about that sometime.

I'm Wayne, my wife and I live in Mackay, Queensland, Australia and we own a Fish and Chip take out. We have two sons, the eldest being a qualified chef and carpenter who currently works here for a large building firm. The other has just finnished his aprenticeship as a chef and works on the Gold Coast

Both boys love fishing as I do, but I'm tied down for a couple of years yet untill I retire. The Great Barrier Reef runs right past our door step so when the time comes I'll catch up then.

I'm also a carpenter by trade and not much of a cook as you will see if I can get the pic. to work of an attempt of roasting a piece of pork on the BBQ

But I do enjoy good company and meeting new people
