I'm going to cook a 6 pound piece of beef in my crock pot. Anyone know a rough estimate how long it will take to make it tender enough to shred with a fork?
WOW! Not trying to be too sarcastic, but A LONG TIME! I would guesstimate about 8-10 hours, atleast. 6lb, wow. I'ld do it covered in a large roasting pan, in a 300degree oven for 5 hours, then check it, and cook longer accordingly. Then you could season the outside, develop a bark, and then shred. Just my opinion.
