I would like to try this, miniman.

Don't know if I can find Golden Syrup, so I may have to go with something else. And evidently I can use turbinado sugar (which I have) instead of demerara sugar.

But what kind/size tray do you use? A jelly roll pan? You spread the stuff to cover or what?

I use a Swiss roll tin which is probably the same as a jelly rool tin, probably anything you would do a tray bake in. I usually line the tin as well, it makes it easier getting it out.
I would have thought any liquid sugar like treacle or molasses would work instead of the golden syrup.
