Going out to eat with DD tonight. I think Tex Mex is on the menu for us tonight.

Since I am eating most of my calories before noon, I wasn't hungry until about 9:00 p.m. I ended up wilting the swiss chard--the baby leaves were a bit beyond baby chard size. Couldn't find the almonds, sesame seeds are at the house in the City, so I used toasted/roasted pecans I found in the freezer instead. Added a bit of mozz. at the end and ate it while it was still warm (the chard). Used about 1 c of the strawberries, sliced. I am saving the batteries on the camera to record the progress of the chicklets. It is hot here. I have 12 l of fresh from the strawberry patch strawberries. I'm thinking a swiss chard (baby leaves) - strawberry - toasted almonds salad dressed with poppyseed dressing...
Don't get me wrong, Harry! I have cooked and eaten Octopus and don't mind it at all. It was just that I have been promising DH salmon patties for awhile . He actually really loves octopus sushi!
I'm not saying I wouldn't eat it. I love calamari so I imagine octopus is not a whole lot different. Just don't ask me to cook it! It's one of those foods that is better left in another cook's hands IMO. I'd not do it often enough to become good at it.
Must be Monday, cause it's leftovers here.
The girls took me out for Indian last night and, as usual, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. So we have a fridge full of Biryani, Lamb Balti, and Chicken Makhani. An assortment of Naan as well. Plenty for tonight's meal.
I absolutely love octopus sushi.
the baby octo's sound delish 4m!I get baby octopus at my market and just grill them briefly. 2 minute a side the marinate them a little afterward. They are about the size of mainstream calamari.
scarey dude! don't remind me,i wouldn't even get in the bath after i saw "jaws" & those guy's eat sharks.....................!Harry, there isn't much in the squid/octopus/cuttlefish family that I don't like. But, there are some squid (Humbold) and octopus (giant) that I'm not sure who is after whom in the water.
after a really great ballgame tonight (even though we lost), i'm picking up sushi/sashimi on the way into work.
oh man that looks good bucky!how much does something like that cost over there.we,don't have takeaways that do anything like that around here, not even in the city centre & if we did it would cost a fortune.here's my dinner from last night. sushi and sashimi combo. no octopus sushi (tako) though.
a salad with ginger dressing

i DO need to move................That does look delicious, Bucky.
Harry, remember that BT is in New York City, so it will cost more than average. Here in SE Virginia, we can get sushi in grocery stores or from a Japanese restaurant. A box of sushi or sashimi might cost USD$6-8 each, depending on the kind of fish it contains.
The small (~ 1 meter long - top of head to tip of tentacle) polpe that I've caught in the Italian Mediterranean were quite tasty.
hmmmmm,'bout the same price as over here.a pack of mixed sashimi/sushi.enough for say a light lunch is about £4-£5 from my local tesco a mixed box or maki box from yo!sushi is about £7-£8.thanks gg and harry.
we can get pre-made refrigerated sushi here in supermarkets and small takeouts, but boy, $6 to $8 is a really good price, gg.
harry, i got this made fresh while i waited, so it's a bit more. the sushi/sashimi combo with salad was $27 usd, and that was from a fairly inexpensive place. most other sushi joints would have charged $30 to $35.
pictures would be good bucky, what is he? the invisible punka-wallah!aww, c'mon. brakepads are easy. one of the few things a regular guy can still maintain on his car without a computer and special software, cable, and connector.
tonight is takeout indian. tikka masala over rice, spinach, and chick peas, with spiced onions and teeny hot oeppers that were grown by inmates in a prison in guatemala.
want pictures, harry? this was only $9 usd including the buck tip for the kid who gets skunked by all of the cab drivers that come in all day long and treat him like a chai-wallah, and he loads me up for a buck and a normal modicum of respect.
correct bt and that was the problem.they are the original discs & they were worn so thin there wasn't anything left to grind.i've been going to stan & alan for years.honest guy's who live locally & always try to fix before having to replace.old school.i like that, plus i've just collected my car.....i bumped them cash & did a deal on a property they want to rent out,so they cut me a handsome discount.like i said bucky, old school!that sucks. don't let them talk you into just grinding and polishing the rotors (discs). it never works for long.
