What have you had for lunch lately?

Back then you could do that, Addie, but nowdays Social Services would take your kids away from you if you left them home alone. We visit this restaurant often. All their meals are very reasonably priced. Their portions are smaller than you find in more expensive restaurants, but most restaurants give you much more than you should be eating. It's nice for my husband and I because we like different things and at a restaurant we can each order what we want.

One of the nice things about going out for breakfast with your spouse, it is like going out on a date. And you don't even have to dress up to impress.

I finished the cream of mushroom soup for lunch. I will definitely be making this again. I am wondering if I used evaporated milk instead of the cream and milk if I could freeze it...

We like our hot dogs blackened. The blacker the better. My husband puts them on a fork and hold them over the burner on our gas range. Like he's at a campfire. No marshmallows, though!

I have seen photos of blackened hot dogs Carol, but never tried them....doesn't that charcoal taste get too much?

Oh okay Ads...I too like them steamed, just for the reason that it is a different texture and one that I like :)

We like that blackened taste on hot dogs, and also on kielbassi, but not on other meats.

I agree with Addy that boiling would leech some of the salt out of them.

I had a feeling that Kylie, being from Australia, might not know what it is. Your probably spelled it correctly, Dawgluver. Here in Pgh Pa it's spelled and pronounced several different ways. I always buy Echrich brand.

Carol, do you get Lebanon bologna? Love that stuff! DH's parents used to send it to us, both sweet and regular. Nothing like it!

We were at the fair around lunch time. I had a bite of a corndog, a bite of a deep fried oreo (yuck!), some popcorn & a drink of mountain dew.

I would have passed on the corn dog, and definitely on the Oreo. BIG YUK! I have never understood what folks find so great about them.
