EVERYONE PLEASE READ - DC will be down this weekend

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that enjoys cooking.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I probably shouldn't be posting this because I'm revealing 'inside information' but this site will now be offering free unlimited music downloads and our own online casino! WHOOHOO! Just kidding... :D

Don't be scared Sushi, it will only get better. ;)

Are we on the other side?
Nope. I don't think it will happen tonight either (IMO). Don't worry Wasabi, this will be a good change.

We could run amuck and be like Chicken LIttle screaming that "The sky is falling!" - or we could be mellow like in the 60's and, "give change a chance" - okay, it was "give peace a chance" but same idea.

Things will either get better, stay the same, or get worse. If they get better, we will all be happy. If they stay the same - then things will stay the same more or less. If they get worse ... we can do like we did when FoodNetwork went down and we can find a new home - and it only took about 48-hours to get some good scounting reports that led many of us here.

I know - I hate change, too. But sometimes change isn't bad. I'll give Andy a break and wait to see what he brings to "our" site.

I really like this website. :)

And I don't pay a dime for it. :D

But this site is only here because someone is making a buck from it.

And now, this site, which in a very few months since its inception, has become popular enough to have been sold. :?

Somebody thinks it is worth the investment. :)

If the buyer(s) alter the site to the point that we don't want to be here anymore, it won't be worth very much. :?

My guess, and hope, is that any changes will be for the better. ;)

And I expect that they will. :D

DC has been around for a couple of years now. BUT...it is only since the infusion of the FN folks that the boards have been so busy. I am sure Andy will make sure we are all happy and the changes will be good ones. Keep your fingers crossed.

That would be fantastic...and free high-speed internet for everyone, also.

I was not on line yesterday to DC cause I was told it would be down, guess this part was not. Anyway I am getting a lot of strong vibes that there is separating anxiety running rampant.......prenatal thumb sucking positioning?????? I certainly hope all of the changes are for the better. Does anyone know why the founder turned it over to someone else? Just curious.

norge - it's the fear of the unknown - and nothing more. The former administration just didn't have the time for it anymore - rather than going for long periods of time of not being able to get in touch with him (which was VERY frustrating) he is turning it over to someone who is interesting in running these kinds of forums. Andy is that person.

The day-to-day running of the site is still going to happen as it always has been. I've been on this site for 3 years, (6 days after it started). Sometimes people just have other things that are pulling at them to do other than keeping a site up and running. I doubt Andy is going to buy it and then let it run down the drain.

Damp - I hate to break the news to you but we had an internal meeting and the unlimited music download will have to wait. The mods are getting a nice little pay raise first - sorry buddy!! ;) Erik - and the high-speed comes even after that. ;)
