My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I wanted to do something special. I've had the idea to make heart shaped chocolate chip cookies for a while, but could never find any sufficient information online. However, I did manage to find a suggestion of refrigerating the dough prior to baking. Should I do this? If so, for how long?
I don't have any cookie cutters, but I was given heart shaped aluminum foil tins for Christmas...would these work better than just shaping them on the cookie sheet?
Is there anything I should do differently with the recipe?

I was also thinking of putting melted chocolate over the top and allowing it to harden enough to write messages on them, but I'm not sure if that would work.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Sounds like you could make blondies (chocolate chip brownies) in the heart shaped tins. Then you could frost them and write on the frosting with a tube of different color frosting.

The recipe for blondies is a little different so it might be best to just get a good recipe here or elsewhere and go with that.
