My mom and I used to make these cookies all the time when I was younger.. I had forgotten all about them, until I found her recipe in an old cook book.
I made them last night, and they're just as good as I remembered! I'm sure most of you have made them before, but I just felt like sharing the recipe anyways!
Snickerdoodles
1/2 cup butter (softened)
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg (beaten)
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix allingredients well. Drop by teaspoonful on slightly greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 min. These cookies will puff up at first then flatten out with crinkled edges.
*Mix 3 tablespoons sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle ontop of cookies after removing from oven!*
