I'm going to try making this to use with peaches and blackberries..It sounds wonderful. To flavor brandy with vanilla split one vanilla bean the long way and add it to a pint of brandy. Age in dark cool place for at least 2 weeks. as you use it you can add more brandy to the bottle. The bean should last about 3 months.

I always make my own vanilla using the cheapest vodka I can find. It is cheaper then store bought vanilla.
 
Kades, great minds think alike! We have 3 X 1/2 gallons of vanilla on the go. Brandy, Bourbon and Vodka.:)
Bourbon and Vodka never entered my mind..Will get some started today..Thanks for sharing:)
