Shrek just told me not to bother with a pumpkin pie...he didn't want one. Well I want pumpkin custard at the very least, so I'll be in the kitchen.

The cake pops turned out great.

The apple pie isn't brown because it's burned. I gave it a milk wash. Then I gave it a nice dusting of Trader Joe's cinnamon sugar grinder. You can't see it in the picture but the light is sparkling off the sugar crystals. It looks so good. LOL

If you give the crust a wash with eggs instead of milk, it will come out nice and shiny. I wash it before I put it in the oven, then again half way through. I sprinkle raw sugar on top after the second wash. The egg wash also help prevent burning. I also egg wash the bottom crust before I even start to prepare the filling. Then I leave it to air dry. It semi hardens and helps prevent it from being soggy.

Thank you for the tips.

You are welcome. My mother used to do that to pies when she was baking them in a wood fired stove. I can still tell if the oven is ready by sticking my hand in it.

Wow, that looks fabulous MM :chef:

My cake pops were a hit for Thanksgiving. Some people didn't have room for pie, and were thrilled to just have a bite of cake!
My youngest grandson (almost 4) ate many cake pops, and still was able to sleep on his 4 hour car ride home. :)
