Dinner June 5, 2014

It's dinner time on the west coast......

I'm about to start an adapted recipe of Asparagus Shrimp Pasta with Lemon and Walnuts....

Anybody else cooking?

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but rather by the moments that take our breath away.

Not cooking - already done. I made a pepperoni pizza for dinner tonight.

We had grilled steaks, stuffed portobello mushrooms, steamed pencil-thin asparagus, iced tea. We were too full for dessert.

When I came into the kitchen, the little girls were both sitting expectantly in front of the pantry and refused to move. I know what that means. They want tuna. I'm easy to please. They each had spoons of tuna with their kibbles and I had a tuna sandwich with thin sliced cukes and tomato slices on oatmeal bread toast. They didn't want any cantaloupe.

I made low-country boil for the teachers last night. Red potatoes, red onions, corn, spicy pork sausage, shrimp and mussels boiled in a broth seasoned with Zatarain's seafood boil, lemons and garlic. Strawberries macerated in sugar and dark chocolate balsamic vinegar over grilled pound cake for dessert.
