I think so, too. Cooking and cleaning are not related to gender. They need to be taught by the parents.

I had chores as a kid, and had to keep my room clean. I enjoy cooking. I hate cleaning. I'm okay with laundry, but don't look forward to it.

When I was married, my wife hated yard work, including gardening. I was fine with it, so I did it. She liked to keep a really clean house, which I hated doing. So, she did that. I also kept the cars clean and maintained, because I liked that, and she didn't.

So, I think it is personality related as much as anything, including how you were raised.

GF is a good deep cleaner..I'm more of a tidier..I can keep a place looking good from afar, putting everything away and straightening it all out, but not big on the vacuuming, dusting, wiping in the corners, etc..so I go in all ham fisted and do the grunt work, while she finishes the finer stuff..so..we make a good team..
