A friend of mine came across something called Zorba buns at a church bake sale. She is trying to find a recipe for them and so far only came across one online and it wasn't close to what she had. She described it like this:

They are a soft white yeast bread but from what I can tell there's also bacon, yellow bell peppers, red bell peppers, black olive slices and maybe onion. There was some sort of seasoning; not Italian seasoning but reminiscent of Mediterranean food. I think they were probably brushed with a flavored olive oil when they came out of the oven since there was a bit of grease on each bun and it had a really good flavor.

Does something like this sound familiar to anyone? A recipe maybe? I would appreciate any help.
