Instant Pot Yogurt

Hi, is my first post and hope I'm not posting in the wrong section

I ordered an instant pot duo and i'm waiting to get it in mail

I'm reading some receipts about how to make yogurt inside the IP, what i can't understand is why all receipts say to steam glass jars with milk inside before starting with actual yogurt inoculation and program

all yogurt machine that i know just tell to add yogurt and milk inside jars and put them inside yogurt machine

do you know if is possible to make cheese with yogurt program?

Hmm. I make my yogurt in the crock pot. Not sure about cheese.

Do you mean paneer? If so it should be possible but I just got my IP the day before yesterday so - no time to test it out yet. I've been making mine in the microwave for over 10 years.
