I don't recommend any liquid either- the natural juices will yield enough. I agree with dotting with butter, or spraying with cooking spray. Better yet, I am soooo addicted to those crock pot liners, and spray those with cooking spray. And add herbs if you like. A dash of liquid smoke will make a tasty bird too. I like throwing chicken, breasts or whole, in the crock, when I plan on making dishes that require pre-cooked chicken. Add some ro-tel, garlic, and cilantro for awesome fajita or quesadilla chicken.
