First time

I found this site while looking for suggestions on the care of my first "good knife" (cousin of "good scissors").
I'm 52, & I raised 3 dtrs and now have 7 grandchildren. I can only say that I fed my family adequately. I enjoyed reading recipes but not cooking. Two years ago I married a man who said that if I'd do the cooking he'd clean up. He enjoys my cooking and loves for me to experiment. Now I'm not intimidated by cooking and I love it. I am, however still suffering from many areas of ignorance so I'm glad to be here and look forward to learning from you all.
