Washing Up
Okay, the economy sucks and there are tons of layoffs/company closings and what not. This thread is for those of us without jobs to support one another, ask for prayers/energy for help, and just vent a little. Yes, I know there's a venting thread, but being unemployed is a whole different ball game. It's also for the little things, what made you smile despite your situation? What keeps you from strangling the cat out of frustration of not having a job despite being willing to work for pennies just to have some sort of income. Let's band together. We, the unemployed, could use the collective support of those in the same position.
For me, I lost my job when I exchanged personal emails with a friend about the illegal activity at my job. They don't pay taxes the right way, they send the father to take state license tests under the son's social security number, they pay their salaried employees as 1099 to avoid paying state and federal taxes, etc. One night my BlackBerry went nuts and I rushed to my email to find it had been hacked and I'm sure it's because they used my stored password (I know ~ idiot move) to get into my personal email from my work computer. I never talked about the activity at work, but I did from home. I had to use my personal email because of glitches with the work email and I stored my password. Holidays came around and they told me not to come to work but didn't tell me I wouldn't be paid. I fought, they fired. To add insult to injury, I had a company credit card. I used it for fuel as reimbursement for my mileage and documented everything. They tossed my expense report and called the police on me and now I'm facing a felony count of illegally obtaining property by false pretense. I so did not do that and it affirms to me these people are truly evil.
I have, in turn, turned them into the IRS, the state, all the states that issued licenses under false pretenses, and if I can find someone else, I'll turn them into them too. I worked for evil people, as much as I'm glad to be gone, I really wish I wasn't unemployed.
