it doesn't sound good, Babe.............call me quack quack.......totally took in the farm yard and all..............
still don't quite get it. what is "scaming for click ins?"
Hi babetoo, let me just give you my own experience with my own little website. Two years ago it couldn't be found with a google search and believe me google controls. It was so new and unknow no one could find it if they wanted to, not even down through the eight hundred places that google showed for the strongest key word "ukraine orphans". To bring a site up where it will show in a google search it has to have click ins - ie visits, and enought to bring it within view.
I didn't do anything dishonest, sneaky or underhanded but just kept on working and today it is number four out of almost five hundred thousand citations using "Ukraine orphans" as a google search key word. Not bad.
I added features that brought people in the door - a page of borsch recipes is one (including our very own CharlieD's contributions!). Twenty to one people are more interested in their own stomachs than hungry orphans! But it brings them in. Using "Ukraine links" as a search the site generally is in the top ten out of about thirty five million, and yes that is million, citations.
I don't take a dime for this - don't even use google advertisements for a way to generate a few dollars, I just don't. It's a gift to the orphaned, disabled, sick and disadvantaged children of Ukraine. You are always welcome! Its tag is .net, easy to find. I have just moved in with my daughter and am using her computer. I've got to put a router on the line here so I can get back at it with my own little laptop that has all the files!
ok, can you explain what that means in English??? have we wasted our time in welcoming him???
Hey, recipe, I see you're online right now. Are you coming back to share with us? We're all curious to find out about your regional dishes and such. Care to share?
Yes Expatgirl;
The only reason this person posted is to have that link at the bottom listed.
There are spiderbots that catalog information for Yahoo, Google, AOL and such. (this is many of the Anonomous you see when looking at "Who is online") People are paid to go place these links on forums so the spiders find them and catalog the site as linked to another site with higher traffic. Moves them up in the ratings when the search is completed.
I am admin for another cooking site and we fight this constantly. It got so bad two years ago that a group of us that Admin social network sites formed an alliance to share data that allows us to kill most of these posts prior to them being catalogged.
That was good, but it also increase our SEO impact numbers, since the sites were so clean of tags, that made the sites more of a target as the impact of getting a link through is so dramatic.
But recently in working with the google spiders we have found a way to reverse the effect. On some sites we allow the spider to come through to a forum the members can not see but it can catalog, then the spider is programmed to come back.... anything missing from the last visit receives a reverse weighted rating since it was removed by admin as a spam or porn link or SEO link farmer.
Anyway I could go on but it is techie stuff no one is really interested in... but we use it to make our real paid for links worth a lot more money. Revenue streams are the key to keeping social networks going.
Actually this person never wanted to be a member. The link to the Recipe URL in the signature is all they wanted to accomplish. They believe they are doing Search Engine Optimization minipulation when they tag these links on tons of different forums.
So why don't we just stop beating a dead horse and get rid of it?
It was gotten rid of quite a while ago. The post is still there, but the link is gone.
Please do not call me a liar QG.
This thread has been up and active for over 12 days, throughout of which any number of the member posts have asked this be addressed. The past 12 days is closer to "quite a while ago" vs the 2 hours ago it took for the link to be removed. Strict time line? Humm....288 hours vs. 2 hours? Strict? It is a matter of perspective. Yes the link was removed today. It had already been taken care of hours ago...........at 8:25 tonight. I am sorry it did not meet your strict time line.
Anyway, I am not sure why you are making any sort of deal over it.
I am sorry it did not meet your strict time line.
