Washing Up
The Whirlpool Corporation, America's largest major home appliance maker, is one step closer to sealing the deal with owning the Maytag Corporation.
Maytag, the country's 3rd largest appliance company, has been beset by lagging sales and a slumping economy, has probably been looking for a way to get out of the appliance- making business, possibly because of scores of class-action lawsuits filed by scores of dissatisfied owners who have invested untold amounts of money into their ill-fated major applainces.
Also, skyrocketing debts as well, have contributed to the comany's downfall. The
quality in their products might have started to go down sometime after the 09-11 terror attacks.
Maytag was once on top of the world. Back in the '50s, '60s and right into the '90s, Maytag made and sold good quality major appliances. Since the 21st century has begun, Maytag started making Norge / Admiral look-alike washers & dryers which were no good when those two co.'s were in existance back in the '60s & '70s.
Now, there's no more trust and faith in the company's products because the
company makes crappy appliances and no one trusts them any more.
Consumers should soon start to see the Maytag name disappear in the very near future.
