Am I missing something about the tape joke? Scotch Tape doesn't taste like Scotch (Whisky). Is there more, like something having to do with Texas or Austin or arroyos?

No, Taxy, you aren't missing anything. This is more of one of those "silly" jokes. Something like a Dumb & Dumber thing. It is called "Scotch" Tape, but doesn't taste like Scotch at all.
