I'm retired so I don't have an office to steal supplies from any more. I buy binder clips from Office Depot. They're fairly cheap (less than 10 bucks American for a box of 12 large), they come in different sizes, and they're metal that doesn't normally break, so it is a one-time expense.

we've had multiple sources/supplies of "plastic clips"
without exception, they all break.

bought some stainless steel clips (I get the wide, but various 'widths' available)
from Amazon

they are stainless steel, they never break or crack . . .

I get plastic bag closers at the dollar store. I started off with some Italian ones that cost a couple of dollars each, but after 25 years or so, they still hold up the best and turned out to be a good deal. The ones I get from Dollarama look like this, but I get four different sizes. This style of bag closer does a pretty darned good job of making an airtight seal.

Sometimes we use clothes pins or stainless steel clips, but not as often and for limited applications.
