ISO good Boston Cream Pie recipe

I am looking for a delicious Boston Cream Pie recipe. I have found a few but the results always come out with a dry cake and a tasteless cream filling. The other request is that my family like milk chocolate for the top not semisweet or bittersweet chocolate.

Try this recipe for the cake. And I cheat and use Birds Custard Powder to make the custard for the middle. It makes a consistently good custard and you can adjust the amount of sugar you like.

If you're going with milk chocolate on the top you're going to end up with a very sweet cake. You might want to cut down on the sugar in the custard part. We've found that mixing about 1/2 milk chocolate and 1/2 semi sweet chocolate satisfies all of the different chocolate preferences in our house.
