Heading down to sun, sea, and sand!

Only '14 more sleeps' till we leave for our early spring stay at Le Blanc Resort and Spa - an Adults Only, All-Inclusive vacation haven in Baja - Los Cabos !

Some of you might recall that we pre- reviewed this widely-heralded premiere Los Cabos resort several months back, just after we had booked it.

Our only purpose in bringing it up again now is to let you folks know that we'll be giving you our critical review of the experience there once we get back, so that any of you who might be considering a possible last-minute spring get-away, or perhaps a fall or winter 2020-2021 vacation, may get some good first-hand info on what it all entails, value-wise.

For any of you interested folks living anywhere on the N.A. west coast, quick direct, non-stop flights are reading available as package deals, with accommodation & all meals & drinks, at reasonable pricing.

Check the resort out @ the 'oyster' link below ( a no-holds-barred critical reviewer of these types of all-inclusive resorts), or at any of several data-supplying vacation links like expedia, trip advisor, travelocity, trivago, etc.

Have a great vacation, RMM. I know Himself is already looking forward to our annual week on Fort Myers Beach this November. One week of sand and sticky salt water is plenty for me, though.

Thanks - I too wish you both a great time in Florida this coming fall - not a bad place to go & catch a few rays & warm breezes in November when you live where both of us do ! LOL
Don't know if you get any snow in November in Ohio, or in Mass., but here in Vancouver, November is generally nothing but almost daily cold rain, and cold winds off the Pacific ocean.

Yes, have fun on the trip! Looking forward to reading your post trip review. We are currently at Jay Peak, VT for skiing. It’s been very sunny but cold. Zero degrees a few days ago. Brrrr.

As promised, here's a brief review of our week-long stay at Le Blanc Resort @ Los Cabos. It'll be short & sweet - as this doesn'tseem to be the time to speak of vacationing. Instead, and for what it's worth, I'llfocus later on a trip commentary as it relates to the current COVID situation.

- The LeBlanc resort is undoubtedly a magnificent 5 star all-inclusive, adults only, vacationexperience ! Certainly # 1 in Cabo San Lucas in my view and that of many otherswho have vacationed there over the past 2 years.

- This 2year old resort is nothing short of being absolute top of the line, in terms ofbeing modern/contemporary, withimpeccably maintained and well laid-out grounds, superb spa amenities, spaciousand attractive rooms, absolutely outstanding restaurant menus, and well-trainedstaff at all levels. Housekeeping was immaculate. The food and service was as good or better than anything we haveexperienced anywhere in the world in all our years of vacation travel !

- We experienced faultless service from wait staff around pools or in restaurants, and were personally greeted by the actual chefs at one time or another inseveral of the a la carte restaurants we went to.

-Butlers oneach floor were very attentive, and promptly dealt with or delivered anythingthat was asked of them.

Cost is notinexpensive by any means, but value is high, so we highly recommend the resortto those who may feel it's affordable.

Now, on tocommenting on the trip in no particular order as it relates to the COVID pandemic:

- Firstly& in retrospect, if we had known before we left, all that we know todayregarding the rapidly-expanding COVID developments, we would very likely havecancelled the trip, particularly since it was fully refundable.

Having goneahead with the trip, here are some particulars of our experience:
- Weprepared ourselves as best we could to take all the precautions possible. Lindatook along an ample supply of hand sanitizers & other disinfectant products, and we had determined to follow/maintain social distancing to the best of ourability anywhere we could.

- On leaving,Vancouver airport passenger traffic was significantly lighter than normallyseen, so that was helpful. (Not so much so @ Cabo airport).

- Both going& returning, Air Canada personnelalso appeared to be prepared to function as well as possible in the COVIDcircumstances. Aircraft flight attendants seemed to do their best to maintain morethan normal distancing from passengers - they served passengers wearing rubbergloves, and handed out hand sanitizers to anyone using the bathroom(s), andkept the bathroom cubicle interiors supplied with sanitizer packs.

- Le Blanc'sapprox. 375 room resort was at less than 10% occupancy level, so there was under100 guests in residence during our stay. Therefore, maintaining socialdistancing was very easy - there was hardly ever more than a few persons gathered anywhere near to each other in thelobby or other interior areas, or around the 4 pool areas. Bars and restaurantswere near empty at all times we walked by, or when actually frequenting thesefacilities ourselves.

- Even though we were informed there were noreported cases of Covid infection in the Baja while we were there, nor as yet since returning, we took the opportunity tosuggest to management our view that they should quickly adopt a moreprecautionary approach by setting up a formal protocol re: COVID, by e.g., having hand sanitizers placed at all suitablelocations/areas frequented by guests, e.g. check-in; bars & restaurants, rooms, bathrooms (both public and within individual rooms), etc., and arranginga daily/frequency routine for housekeeping staff to sanitize door knobs, elevator call buttons, bar/restaurant furnishings, etc. etc.
We understand theyhave since instituted such a protocol.

Overall, hopefully our risk of being infected was low - but only time will tell.

P.S. We're currently at home, in self-imposed quarantine isolation.
