I've tried that, but it felt unsteady and dangerous to me. So I put a clean dish towel on the counter under the upended corn cob, then slice off the kernels. Then I can just gather up the towel and pour the kernels into a bowl or whatever.rr, if you have a bunt cake pan, or an angel food pan, they come in handy for slicing corn off the cob without it flying everywhere. Just stand up the cob in the hole, and slice away.
I had a loaded up taco salad.
