Unless I go to a specialty seafood shop, mussels in the big stores come in premeasured bags of approx 1 k. Good for 2 people or 2 meals for one. I'm the one!
So the first meal was with a sauce of Pernod and Cream. Finally had the 2nd meal last night, again with Pernod but no cream, it was with white wine and a diced Roma (seeded).
It was very enjoyable but not as good as with the Cream.
Dish of fries is a little on the short side, they were ready before the mussels. Guess they got a bit nibbled on.
We had dinner at Outback steakhouse last night. I had the chicken tenders with a baked potato and mixed seasonal vegetables. Dark Chocolate for dessert when we got home.
We ordered subs from Dagwoods. DH got "The Dagwood: Ham, mortadella, pepperoni, Genoa salami, cheese". I got "The Beef: Roast Beef , Cheese". We both chose whole wheat bun, salad, pickle, onions, lettuce, black olives, and Dagwood's Signature sauce.
