My refrigerator gave up after 16 years of faithful service. It was an Amana 25 cf side by side.
The top of my list after researching the alternatives now available is the GE Profile line (http://www.geappliances.com/products/introductions/side_by_side/downloads/sidebyside_brochure.pdfhttp://www.geappliances.com/products/brands/profile.htm. I'm looking at the 26 cf Model PSS26PST in stainless steel. It has something GE calls ClimateKeeper 2 which is a dual evaporator system. One for the freezer compartment and one for the refrigerator which means that the refrigerator won't dry out the foods in the refrigerator yet the freezer will stay frost free.
Anyone here have any experience with GE refrigerators or any suggestions for alternatives?
