I hardly ever buy "new" cookbooks, I pick them up second hand at charity shops and markets. But I treated myself to "Feast" by Nigella Lawson. It's quite an amazing book. It's divided into odd chapters, such as Christmas and Thanksgiving, Rosh Hashanah, Eid (the muslim festival after Ramadan) recipes for children, birthdays, chocolate cakes - no real rhyme or reason, but it works.
Fittingly, the last chapter is on Funerals. She mentions a tradition in Thailand where mourners are presented with a little book of favourite recipes of the dearly departed. It sounds like a lovely idea.
So here comes the question...... what would 5 recipes would you leave for your loved ones as your legacy? (I'm gonna have to think on this one!)
