My plum trees are overloaded and so I'be been trying many new recipes.
Came across one that is called plum butter. It's basically the plums pitted, simmered, strained, re-simmered with sugar until thickened then canned. I believe they are to end up similar to the consistancy of canned cranberry sauce. No so much!:glare: Mine ended up more like homemade plum nectar. Has anyone tried making fruit butter before? Any luck/suggestions would be very welcome. Also, now that I have all this nector, got any suggestions for a marinade? Thanks!!

Plum butter typically has a consistency similar to a thick tomato paste. Sounds like you did not cook it down enough. It's often used as a pastry filling. Your nectar might make a nice topping for pancakes.
