just don't know how I missed this but Bolas, your pictures are beautiful. And your beef tomatoes!

Thank you Poppi, it was a joint effort with my wife and my younger brother Harry Cobean. We had never done gardening before, Harry has won RHS gold medals for his orchids so he and my wife sorted the flowers. I just applied what is left of my muscles using the rotovator.The Toms are Marmande, we had about 15lbs of cherry toms and 20lbs of Roma "paste" toms.

I wondered if the bigguns were the Marmande variety. Two summers ago we grew some but they went to potato blight, like the rest of West Sussex.

To have received a gold award from the RHS is the highest accolade. You must be so proud of your younger brother!

I have a dog, too. A loopy blue rhoan cocker spaniel who will be 15 this December. Spanner is just as cussed as I am.

So lovely, bet it's hard work at times to maintain. I've only started growing veg and it's so satisfying to live on something you made but bloomin hard work too!
