crewsk, my sister the pastry chef went nuts for your cake, as did other family members. We ate the leftovers for breakfast.

We also speculated on the many other potential good uses for that frosting--the most popular was just sitting down with a bowl of it and a spoon.

It took a bit of searching, but I found the post and copied the recipe. This is the same thing my mother used to make while she was alive, so it's a great find for me, a whole lotta sentimental value. Thanks Crewsk.

I'm so glad y'all enjoyed mudbug! My mom made a chocolate cake & brought to our house for Thanksgiving & used the frosting on it. I was in heaven!! I could sit down with a bowl of it too & be happy for a long time.
