TRUTH !!
Vulcan was proposed in the 1800's to explain some peculiarities about
Mercury's orbit which could be caused by a gravitational force. The search
for Vulcan was abandoned in 1915 after Einstein's Theory of General
Relativity helped to explain why Mercury orbits the Sun in such a strange
way. All these theories inspired the name of the planet where the character
Spock of 'Star Trek' came from.
