i look back at those lean years of my youth, when twelve dollars an hour (social worker pay) and my husband's teacher's pay had us struggling and pinching pennies....but then along would come PAYDAY and all bets went out the window--then it was a trip to the crab shack for a couple dozen extra large maryland steamed crabs dredged in old bay seasoning, and a couple of six packs of mickey's beer to wash it all down nicely.....
other paydays were spent on thick steaks for bar-b-ques--no less than a pound per serving, and lots of good friends bringing much beer, wine, baggies, and their carnivorous appetites to the backyard grill....
a special meal at my favorite french restaurant was another one of my special payday treats.....
are payday meals still happening today? what is your favorite payday meal?
