Breakfast - Hub and I shared this half each.

Scrambled eggs on a buttered long roll with tomato slices.

Not sure what dinner will be yet. BUT I will have a chocolate milkshake.

I'm not sure yet either, but there's a gourmet "Deluxe" thin crust pizza beckoning to me from the freezer.

Trouble is, I always feel the need to add more 'stuff' to these frozen things, and inevitably make them too thick - I haven't learned yet that 'less is more' when it comes to most pizzas.

My neighbor is having a Democratic debate watch party tonight. I'm going to take some tzatziki and dippers and homemade limoncello ;) I'll also make some Greek meatballs before I go (DH would rather stay home and watch football).

I’ll grill a chipotle marinated pork tenderloin to go with roasted potatoes and an as yet undetermined veggie.

Hopefully, venison pot roast. I browned it and then put it in the crock pot slow and low. I rehydrated dried cherries and morel mushrooms, added the "liquor", onion, carrots, turnips, celery, potatoes (added those around 4:00 p.m.), a bit of dashi, anchovy paste, garlic, horseradish, juniper berries, a couple of sprigs of fresh rosemary when I added the veggies. We'll see how this turns out. I plan to strain the juice, "whirl" some of the veggies to make a gravy, add some gjetost, and a cherry reduction. The KN (a/k/a Dad) went to the GFAB to pick up medications, etc. Had to make something that I could hold since I have no idea when he will get back and Mom eats at 5:30.

I made a batch of guacamole for a lunch break today - probably not many left with those fresh tomatoes, though I froze a lot of them, plus the chiles, for the off-season. Later, we had a batch of that easy pasta recipe I got from Milk Street, with a lb of halved cherry tomatoes and some fresh bay and sage. And of course, garlic!

Today was Dinner from the garden day.
Used Chard, onions, garlic, tomatoes, pepper, string beans, Curry leaves and potatoes (all from the garden) to make 2 dishes.
1) Indian flavored string bean and potatoes
2) Mushroom and Chickpea Saag ( greens, in this case I used chard)

Years ago, my friend invited me to go to a NY Mets game. They were Indian and this was back in the day where Indian food was not common at all. She made this string bean and potato sandwich. Ill never forget it. At that time, was young and not cooking. This cuisine was so new to me, other than the potatoes and string beans, nothing looked or tasted familiar. Also way before the internet days, so I couldn't look anything up. Having a decent taste memory , was able to recreate the dish. Im sure not exactly the same, but close enough. Having to cut back on carbs, I did without the bread ( sometimes I do have the sandwich) but today I avoided it.

Oh yeah, that worked. This is Mom's plate. The white is some sour cream. I could definitely make pot roast this way again--not my grandmother's pot roast.

Here's the pizza slices I had tonite - they actually were pretty good - I restrained myself from adding a bunch of extra 'stuff' - just a bit more mozzarella cheese.

As I said earlier, I would have preferred the mussels dish, but that was not to be:(.

I am in Seoul Korea last night met with a Korean food blogger and tour guide that I have been on line friends with for about ten years. We met up for pizza.

I forgot to take pictures. I took the rest of the rib steak I cooked to rare on Tuesday and sliced it thin. I fried up the thin strips of steak (DH likes his steak well done. I like mine rare, but if it's mostly browned crust, that's fine with me.) I served it with a pan sauce, sautéed rainbow chard, and a mix of brown rice and corn kernels. That was yummy.

I made some browned and braised short ribs, mashed 'taters and gravy, and steamed carrots. :yum: Had dinner around 4 and have been having a quiet evening. I have to be up by 7AM to take my car in for an oil change and tire rotation at 8:30, so heading for bed soon. It'll take a few hours, but they will give me a ride home when I drop it off, and come pick me up when it's done. :)

Cheryl, don't you just love a mechanic and garage with that kind of service?

Geez, PPO, doesn't Louisiana have pizzerias? That's an awfully far way to go for a slice. I hope it was good.

I had to clothes shop because I don't do "nekkid" very well. I hate to clothes shop. Despise clothes shopping. I was too tired when I finally got home (with two new tops - woowee  ), so dinner was a split can of Progresso soup and a hot ham-and-cheese sandwich on some of the Amoroso's rolls I have leftover. I'll make up for it with homemade soup tomorrow - Himself will be coming back chilled after his night of stargazing. Yup, it's starting up again this year!
