This was my cool project for the day.Little kids would love to make their own unique DrumStix.
1 Gallon Ice cream your pick of flavors
1 package of the large Waffle Cones (Rite-Aid) brand was used for these.
Large sturdy cone holder.My brilliant son made one out of Styrofoam.
Chopped nuts of your choice.We used Peanuts,and crushed Waffle Cones.
I wanted to use crushed Oreo's,but noooo..We're out..again..
*SHELL TOPPING*
1 Package of Chocolate chips
1 Stick of Butter,cut into small pieces
1/4 of a stick of Paraffin Wax.Gulf Brand.Chopped or shredded.
In a large microwave safe bowl.Melt your chips,and paraffin,for 30 seconds at a time,until the chocolate and paraffin have melted nice and smooth.
Then add the butter.Mix carefully until it's completely blended in with the chocolate and wax.
Place your cones into the holder,drop a chocolate chip to the bottom.
Take one cone and spoon a nice coating of your shell topping into the inside of the cone.Do that until all the cones have a coating.
Place the rack with the cones in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.Longer is ok.
While those are chillin'.Take out the Ice cream.Let it sit out until it's easily scooped.
Place your warm bowl of shell topping, and other toppings that you might want, forming an assembly line.
When the Ice cream is easy to scoop,take out the cones.
Working quickly....
Scoop the Ice cream into the shells.We did 2 scoops.
Dip it quickly into the shell topping,coating it well.
Dip again into the other toppings.
Place them on the rack.
When they are all assembled,place the rack of cones, back into the freezer,and freeze an hour or longer if you can hold out that long.
