Dill Seed/Weed

I'm getting ready to pickle some okra and the recipe calls for dill seed. All I can find at my local grocer is dill weed. Can I substitute it for the seed?

You can substitute, but dill weed is a little messier in the jar.

Dill seed has a different taste than the weed. We have both but prefer the weed on our cucumber salad and put seed into the water when making plain boiled potatoes.
