Ken's Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler
Ingredients
12 inch oven
1/2 cup butter
2 1/2 cups sugar, divided
2 cups all-purpose flour
5 teaspoons baking powder
Dash of salt
2 cups milk
4 cups sliced peaches--I used canned peaches and cut the slices into three or four small pieces. If that is not enough, use 5 or 6 cups.
Procedure
Melt butter in the oven.
Combine 2 cups sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add milk, and stir until mixed. Coat the sides and bottom of the oven with butter. Pour batter gently over butter in the oven, but do not stir. The butter will form a thin layer between batter and oven.
Combine peaches and remaining 1/2 cup sugar; spoon over the batter. Let them sink into the batter. Do not stir them.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
