Cooked Salad Dressing
This is an old recipe found in the San Benito Historical Society, and is written as the original. Used a lot on coleslaw and Waldorf-type salads.

Blend 2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon mustard
1/4 teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons flour
Add 4 egg yolks and beat well
Add 1/2 cup vinegar
3/4 cup water or milk
Stir constantly until creamy and thick.
Add 1/2 cup butter,
Beat well and chill
If desired, add 1 cup of sweet or sour cream, plain or whipped, just before serving.

Good Luck!

thanks! we'll see if this is the same type i'm looking for. either way i think it will become a favorite! :D
