Went to the apple/pumpkin orchard tonight with grandson and made me think of these. Got the recipe out to make tonight and thought others might enjoy.
These are more like a very moist cake and very good.

Apple Nut Squares

oven 350 -- greased and floured 9x13 pan
mix together
3 eggs
1- 3/4 cup sugar
1 cup oil
add
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Add
8-10 apples peeled- sliced-and then cut into chunks not very big or the batter will be done before the apples are.
1/2 - 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
optional-- rasins or dried cranberries
placed into a bake 1 hr
when fully cooled sprinkle with confectionary sugar

I forgot to add, I have made an icing (like for cinnamon rolls) only adding maple flavoring and drizzled over these. No recipe I just take some confectionary suger add lil milk at a time till thick or desired consistency and then add lil maple flavoring.

They would make a good muffin also. Today I happen to make some cinnamon sugar toast and thought that might be good to sprinkle on top of these. so later today i did and it was tasty. also

That sounds so delicious! I love anything with apples. Already copied and pasted the recipe. Thanks!!
