I am prepared to fix some sausage gravy, steamed spinach, and toasted buttermilk cornbread. Dh will get his spinach as a side, while I will have to hide mine between the cornbread and the gravy:LOL:

with milk:)

I'm making a modified version of a Lydia Bastianich recipe provided by Jennyema. It's chicken cooked with pickled peppers, olives and white wine. We serve it over rice.

Home made Pizza. By homemade I mean dough and sauce.

I have perfected a nice recipe that my kids love.

My experiment tonight will be to make a spinach alfredo pizza. My kids love the one from Papa Johns. Well the reall Papa John is going to make them the pizza tonight.

7 oz hamburger on sesame bun with large slice of onion and horseradish-mayo or a manchego cheese topping followed by a pound of steamed asparagus and washed down with Sam Adams beer.

Smoked pork and black bean chili, salad with lime cilantro vinaigrette, corn muffins and mango melba for dessert.

I just put 3 racks of baby back ribs in my smoker, served with potato salad and slaw. I love to sit and listen to 60's rock and smell the smoke.

later

I poofed (pulled out of freezer) some chicken breasts for chicken Marsala. I am not sure what the sides will be, maybe mashed potatoes or pappardelle and for sure, lots of fresh veggies. :)

Cream of tomato soup (canned, :() and jalapeño cheese biscuits, because I just blogged the recipe and got a craving. It cracks me up trying to decipher some of my old 3x5 cards and random scraps of paper ... "Now is that 10 cups of sugar? Oh, no, that's a coffee stain, not a 0".

last meal before practicals & testing week, so Chef just let us have at it. we cooked a buffet of king crab & snow crab, softshell crabs, sea scallops, lobsters, grilled marlin, dungeness crabs, mussels, scampi, some pane-fried shrimp, tomato/cucumber salad, grn. bns. with shallots & garlic, pilaf, fruit salad & chantilly cream. it was a huge feast!

Trinidad Chicken and brown rice on tortillas, with a snappy Habanero Mango Avocado Salsa.
It's goooood!

Buffalo burgers on the grill, roasted sweet potatoes in a lime/garlic marinade and maybe some red wine - I'm feeling the need to bust out some alcohol.

meatloaf, mashed white, red and yukon potatoes, gravy and spinach.

OOOOOH. That is my old standby. My kids love that dinner.

By the way. My pizza turned out pretty good. For the Spinach alfredo I just used an instant alfredo sauce and one can of spinach. I asked one of my daughters if it tasted like Papa Johns. She said "NO" "It's better".

You have to love them when they are young.

Didn't feel like eating a lot but had a new recipe for a creamy chive salad dressing. Had all the ingredients including ample fresh chives and fresh parsley. Poured that over hearts of romaine with a nice helping of Gorgonzola cheese and bacon bits. Served it with some fresh baguette and cookies for dessert.

Total Comfort Food

I stopped at the store on the way home from work and decided on pork chops! They were coated with seasoned crumbs and browned in butter. Then, I covered cream of mushroom soup :ermm: and baked in the oven for 40 minutes at 375 F. On the side, were stuffing and canned green beans. :ermm: Mark shouldn't have stuffing or breaded pork chops, but I think once a week isn't that big of a deal.

Hey, when you get home from work, you don't always have the energy to make everything from scratch.

Here was dinner....
