1 box German chocolate cake mix -- dry
1 can condensed milk -- (14 oz.) Eagle Brand
1 c. chopped nuts -- optional
3/4 c. melted butter
1 bag caramels -- (14 oz.)
1 pkg. chocolate chips -- (6 oz.)
1 pkg. butterscotch chips -- (6 oz.) optional
Mix by hand cake mix,
1/2 cup condensed milk, nuts and butter.
Press half of mixture into 9 x 13 inch greased pan.
Bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees.
Remove from oven and spread chocolate chips and butterscotch chips on top. Melt caramels with remaining condensed milk. Pour on top of chocolate and butterscotch chips. Sprinkle remaining cake mixture on top of chips. (drop by spoonfuls) Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool; put in fridge for 30 minutes and cut into squares.
