Senior Cook
We have about 50 cookbooks. I find that I'll read through the book and maybe go for a recipe or two exactly as printed. What happens most times is I come away with an over all approach and go with the ingredients on hand. This happend recently when I read about sorbets and then we made a lime basil sorbet like we had at a resturant. I look for the ratios and it worked for a cool summer coconut mango soup but it wasn't in any cookbook. Do alot of cooking with no book at all
