DIY frozen yogurt

Hello there, first of all, my name is Rob and i'm new here.
My question is, i've been trying to make my own frozen yogurt, following this recipe, but the problem is, I can't seem to get it to come out to the right texture. Anyone have any tips on how to get it right?

I don't have an icecream maker lol but I used to make cookie and cream icecream using only spoon and freezer lol. I freeze the mixture for a while, take it out and stir, and refreeze. eventually it becomes a ice cream texture
