Does bacon have to be frozen

being old geezers with doctors telling us what not to eat anymore . . .
we do eat bacon, just in "reduced quantities/frequencies"

had a typical supermarket package of Oscar Meyer bacon . . . kept in the fridge . . .
it actually turned up with green mold on portions.... presumably those areas I touched/contaminated with my fingers . . . .

I buy 2-3 pounds of farmer's market bacon at a clip - portion it out into two strip portions - freeze on wax paper - wrap in aluminum foil for long(ish) term freezer storage.

I tried cooking an entire pound of bacon at once in the oven. The bacon was great. Unfortunately, none of it made it into the freezer. We just kept munching "one more slice".

Because bacon is meat-candy.
