5c flour
1 small cake of yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg slightly beaten
1 Tbsp. crisco
2 tbsp. margie
2 c. milk scaled than cooled

Put flour in bowl let stand at room temperature. Make well in center. Soften yeast ans 1/2 tbsp.sugar in 1/2 cup milk. Pour into well. Let rise until foamy and light (about 15 minutes.) Add the remaining milk, egg, salt, sugar, and melted shortening. Work dough and kneed well, add flour as necessary. Cover and let rise until very light, (about 1 1/2 hours.) Turn to a floured board. Roll 1/2 'thick. Cut into diamond and squares. Until light . Cover, place raised side down into grease. Fry until turn over by itself. About 3 min.
