I realize that we have folk here from many countries, so I'm opening this up to all.

I was just listening to the tail end of a PBS show, and they were singing, "This land was made for you and me." I consider this song to be the most representational song of the United States, maybe because I've been coast to coast and border to border.

What song says the most to you about your country, be it USA or others. Most of us are from the US, so post words if you are from another country and want us to know about it.

Verse
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America ! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

Verse
O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
Whose stern, impassion'd stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

Verse
O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And ev'ry gain divine!

Verse
O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimm'd by human tears!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

"This Land is Your Land" ("This land was made for you and me" is the last line of the chorus)
