I love home made sausage rolls. I was dismayed at first when diagnosed with Coeliac Disease, would I have to give up my beloved sausage rolls???
I only make them at Christmas, using Delia Smiths recipe, they have become a Christmas treat for me.
All I did was follow Delia's recipe for "ordinary" sausage rolls, and made my pastry using Doves Farm gluten free flour, plus 2 teaspoons of xantham gum to replace the elasticity that gluten gives.
I buy gluten free sausages, - there are a few good makes over here - Jimmy Doherty, The Black Farmer, Debbie & Andrews. My fave ones are Debbie & Andrews Harrogate sausages.
Well worth having a go, and totally delicious straight from the oven, whether its Christmas or not (well, not, right now.)
