If properly cooked, canned, and stored - up to about 3 years for edibility (safe to eat). If you are concerned about nutritional value and optimal texture ... about 1 year.

They can be safe after 3 years if the seal is intact. Might be a bit dry, maybe not. They are safe as long as the seal is OK.

Thank you for the answer. I have never tried to can anything before. my Grandmother used to do it and the stuff she canned tasted great.

When you say "Canned", you mean " Preserved in glass jars", right? There's always a confusion in my (English) mind because we eat baked beans out of (tin) cans!! Just want to be sure of the terminology.
I make (pepper) jellies, chutneys and the occasional jam - my laboratory specialists said "2 yrs minimum" - so I put 18 months on the expiry dates.
That might be selfish so that I can sell more...
I've had Apple Chutnies at home which were opened after 3 years. OH!! Wonderful fermented stuff - but I'd keep to the 18-24 month rule.
