Husband bought a dehydrator at a yard sale for $3. No instructions. It has several trays and 2 temps. Someone give me some simple ideas. I'd like to start with dried nanner chips.
Hi Susie, just cut up the banana into thin slices, stick 'em on the trays and turn it on. Works great for apple, pineapple and drying herbs too. Welcome aboard.
If you have some excess produce getting ripe in the refrigerator, try dehydrating that celery (especially the tops), onions, tomatoes, carrots, etc. They can later be tossed into homemade soups or ground/chopped for spices.
Fruits are excellent for making snacks, like the bananas mentioned.
buy a bunch of seedless grapes (any kind) on sale and put them on the trays. They take a little longer than other things but you will have the best raisins ever! I do it all the time.
