Condensed canned tomato soup. I was going to make a yummy dinner, but tonight, the grandkids don't deserve my efforts. They get no snacks, a plain meal, and no desert.
We had pasta carbonara and salad. The carbonara was pretty good, not as good as the last time I made it. I think it was operator error. The salad was a new-to-me recipe from Jacques Pépin, Greens with Quick Cream Dressing. It was okay, but bland. I won't be doing that one again. Another time, when I want to make a really easy salad, I'll just toss some leaves with some of the homemade vinaigrette I almost always have in the fridge. Even if I don't have any of that vinaigrette, it's quicker to make and doesn't get as many things dirty and then I have lots left.
I added the last of the frozen corn, and tomato chunks tossed with black salt and crushed grains of paradise to our plates for more color and tasty goodness.
