Ms. Mofet's Deconstructed Shepard's Pie (Cottage Pie)
Serves 4 or 5

Browned ground beef & onions.
Browned ground beef, onions, veggies & gravy.
Cheddar cheese mashed potato cup.
Deconstructed Sheppard's/Cottage pie served.
Serves 4 or 5

- 1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
- 1 small onion - chopped
- 1 envelope dry brown gravy mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 - 3/4 cup burgundy wine
- 2 cups frozen mixed veggies
- 5 - 6 medium potatoes - peeled & cubed
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 3 TBSP butter
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Sea salt - to taste
- Ground peppercorns - to taste
- Chives - fresh chopped or dry - to taste
- Additional shredded cheddar - optional
- Brown beef and onions in pan.
- Drain off fat if necessary.
- Add dry gravy mix to pan and stir well.
- Add water and wine; stir well and cook till thickened.
- Add frozen veggies and stir. Lower heat, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Place potatoes in pot of salted water and boil till tender.
- Drain and mash potatoes.
- Add sour cream and butter and stir well.
- Stir in cheddar cheese, salt, pepper and chives.
- Place mound of potatoes on plate and make a well in the middle to form a cup.
- Spoon meat mixture into cup/well.
- Top with additional cheese if desired.
